Playgroup Olympic Games 2008

In preparation and anticipation of 8-8-08 we celebrated by having our own Playgroup Olympic Games and BBQ! It was a beautiful day full of fun, a bit of competition, and friends. We spent a little time talking to the kids about the upcoming Olympic Games in Beijing, what they mean and why this year will be special. And introduced them to the Friendlies- 2008 Mascots! And then the kids competed in team races and fun activities and crafts. They really seemed to get into the spirit. Really a fun afternoon.
Learning about the Olympic Games and Fuwa.Grace kicking some soccer goals!Perfect 10?She thinks so.Doing crafts with Auntie and Miss Kelly. Relay race fun. The kids loved passing the batons and asked for a few more heats.Grace running her leg of the relay race.Race winners.
Our Olympic Champions.

Maddie supervising the games and being pulled by Olympic Judge Grammy.

Dave and Andy grill masters. Special award winners for grilling in the hot hot summer heat.

Special thanks to Auntie, Miss Kelly, and Grammy for all of your help in preparation and during the games. I so appreciate you guys. You mean so much to the girls. And I would never be able to do all that I do without you. Thank you for always being there. Grace asked me if we could do it again- and I told her that she would see her friends on Monday- and she said NO NO. Today- can we do Olympic games and all of today all over again.
So glad we have pictures because I do not think she will be in the exact same everyone wins-its all for fun competitive spirit in another 4 years.
We are ready and waiting for 8-8-08! Welcome to Beijing!
Love, Kerry

Kerry,

That is the most innovative, cute thing I have seen in a long time!!! Fabulous! I have been having a bit of trouble trying to explain all about the olympics...I am so excited...but poor Lia is a bit confused and now somehow thinks she isn't going to go swimming for two weeks....obviously I still have some work to do!!!

hi kerry,
i see you are interested in promoting adoption...so are we! we just formed an org. that will give grants to couples who can't afford to adopt without grants. we have five people on the board and hold board meetings about once a month right now. we have gotten incorporated by the state but are just getting started and haven't raised funds or gotten our 5013C status or whatever that number is..my hubbie did the paperwork. let me know if you're ever interested in getting involved with us.
we think we might travel to china in oct. for ben but still don't have a date yet...aaahhh...give us our son, china!

Kerry,
I'm so sad we were in California for the Olympic fun. I heard you did an amazing job. How do you do it all? Looking forward to seeing you and the girls soon.
